The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) will broadcast all 64

World Cup games live on nbc1 and nbc3 as well as on radio.

The national broadcaster will also repeat some of the key games during

World Cup in a bid to make this year’s world cup more interactive and

memorable for the viewers.

For the first time, the NBC will be crossing over to the Supporter’s

Sports Bar where there will be a reporter and an interactive presenter

on standby to mingle with viewers watching the games there.

The NBC made all this possible with the sponsorship of H & G

Advertising from Botswana, Institute of Open Learning (IOL), Trustco

Insurance, Nampost, Coca Cola and Simply Black.

“We would not have been able to broadcast the World Cup matches

live had it not have been for the assistance of our sponsors, who

believed inn NBC’s capabilities to screen quality games,” said the

Director General of NBC, Albertus Aochamub.

Matches to be broadcasted on nbc3 will only be watched via the NBC

Decoder (DTT Decoder) which is selling at N$199.

The NBC will also be running competitions lined up for the duration of

the World Cup where viewers can win prizes. In the currently running

competition, viewers stand a chance to win five 42 inch HD Television

sets that can also be used as a computer worth N$13 000. The TV sets

will be given out weekly.

The World Cup games which will be held in Brazil are set to kick on the

12 June 2014.
