WINDHOEK, 09 JUN (NAMPA) - The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has invited 41 match officials to a Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) member referees course planned for Windhoek from 23-28 June at Football House.
In a statement availed to Nampa by the NFA on Monday, NFA Referees Manager Edwardt Ndjadila said the course - to be known as the Elite Referees Course - will bring together 41 match officials in Namibia, of whom six are instructors and 35 are officials eligible for Premier League matches next season.
The course will cover, amongst others, the Laws of the Game and the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game, while participants will also be subjected to physical fitness tests as well as a medical test.
We must have fully-fit referees to run the lines and the field in our Premier League, and indeed in all our leagues.
We have selected a group of 35 referees and assistant referees, who in our view have the promising qualities to be the best we can have in this country. This course will be an Elite Referees Course, which will just take them through all the latest trends in terms of the Laws of the Game, said Ndjadila.
The referees invited for the course are Rainhold Shipanga, Helmuth Andreas, Jonas Shongedi (FIFA referees), Reinhold Malima, Danki Shinana, Sello Mutelo, Kephas Kahona, Gotlieb Matheus, Jackson Pavaza, Liston Nangombe, John Mayongora, Israel Kaongo, Cornelius Kheib, Johannes Alberto and Leticia Manga (National).
The assistant referees are Dawid Shaanika, Alfeus Shipanga, Mathew Kanyanga, Ben Nashenda, Isaskar Boois (all FIFA), Ben Mbiki, Titus Nghishimono, Simon Eneas, Lukas Nangolo, Romarion Geiseb, Jesaya Kapenda, Alex Luponyani, Patrick Hekandjo, Christof Vries, Jeremia Johannes, Jonas Kambonde, Olivia Amukuu, Canty Kalatau, Theresia Hamukwaya and Richard Ha-eirob.
The instructors are Fransiska Katjaimo, Simpson Domingu and Arvo Mufeti (Technical), Moses Hidengwa (Physical), Absalom Goseb (Coordinator) and Edward Ndjadila (Technical/Physical).
There will also be four female participants attending the course, being national referee Leticia Queen Manga as well as national assistant referees Olivia Amukuu, Theresia Hamukwaya and Canty Kalatau.
