This year’s Kinabalu Shell Press Awards will see the inclusion of two new categories, namely the Journalism Award for News Stringers and Best Photograph for News Stringers, which is aimed at recognising the work of part-time journalists for their contribution towards enhancing knowledge, stirring public interest and promoting desired response and development in the community.

Each category offers a cash prize of RM1,500 to the winners, as well as up to two merit cash prizes of RM500.

Earlier, Francis briefed the chief minister that a total of 323 entries were received this year, making it a record number of entries submitted thus far, for the awards.

Musa will be guest-of-honour for this year's KSPA scheduled to be held here on Aug 17.
