Buddy Wentworth passes away

WINDHOEK, 04 JUN (NAMPA) – The former Deputy Minister of Education, James Wilfred ‘Buddy’ Wentworth passed away in Windhoek on Wednesday.
Wentworth died of heart failure at home at around 08h00, his daughter Ayesha Wentworth told Nampa.
She said the former education deputy minister had been sick for some time and was admitted to the Mediclinic Private Hospital, where he was in the intensive care unit for two months.
Wentworth will be buried according to Muslim rites on Wednesday evening, and a memorial service has been planned for this the weekend.
Ayesha Wentworth indicated that the procession will start from the Wentworth residence in the Olympia residential area at 21h30 and move to the Pionierspark Cemetery.
Wentworth, who was a teacher by profession, served as the Swapo-Party Regional Secretary for Information and Broadcasting before taking up the position of Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Vocational Training, Science and Technology in 1995.
He leaves behind 10 children.
