SIBU, July 5 (Bernama) -- A housewife and her two children were found gassed to death at their house in Pulau Li Hua Housing Estate in Upper Lanang Road here this morning.

They were identified as Ling Yung Ming, 40, daughter Christine Tiang Soon Ai, 14, and Victor Tiang Soon Sheng, two.

The bodies of Ling and Soon Sheng were on a floor while Soon Ai was on a mattress.

Ling's other son, aged 17, made the gruesome discovery when he woke up about 10am.

Her 43-year-old husband, a site clearing contractor, has gone missing from home.

Sibu police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafie Ismail said the police wanted to contact Ling's husband to facilitate investigations into the murders.

He said the teenager told the police that his father had turned aggressive when he asked him why his mother, sister and brother were dead.

"He managed to escape when his father tried to grab him. He jumped out of a window on the first floor of the house and sought refuge in a neighbour's house.

"When the neighbour called the police, the father drove away in a black Toyota 4-wheel drive vehicle," added Shafie.

The bodies of the three victims were sent to the Sibu Hospital mortuary.
