Chief Riruako passes away in Windhoek

WINDHOEK, 02 JUN (NAMPA) - The OvaHerero Paramount Chief and president of the National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo), Dr Kuaima Riruako passed away in Windhoek on Monday.
He was 79.
Riruako died at the Roman Catholic Hospital at around 16h30, his son Brian Riruako told Nampa on Monday.
“The Chief is no more,” he said, adding that mourners would gather at the Commando Hall in Katutura as from Monday night.
Brian Riruako said the veteran politician and long-serving Member of Parliament had been hospitalised since 26 April 2014 until his death on 02 June.
He was diagnosed with high blood pressure.
Riruako was born at Aminuis in the Omaheke Region on 24 April 1935. He is survived by his 16 children. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
