GEORGE TOWN, July 5 (Bernama) -- Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has challenged the opposition to provide proof pertaining to a Chinese doctor who allegedly gave poor service to a Malay patient at a government hospital.
He said this was important and serious as the issue smacked of racism.
"I hope opposition members can be responsible and disclose the doctor's name so that an investigation could be undertaken.
"If it (the claim) is untrue, then the opposition must be responsible enough to retract (the allegation) and apologise to all doctors in Malaysia," he said during the winding-up speech of Penang Governor Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas in the State Assembly here today.
On Wednesday, the sitting turned into a battle of wits between R. S. N. Rayer (DAP-Seri Delima) and Datuk Roslan Saidin (BN-Pinang Tunggal) over an alleged racial issue that caused a commotion in the House.
