JPA TO BE ROLE MODEL FOR CIVIL SERVICE TRANSFORMATION

KOTA KINABALU, July 4 (Bernama)-- The Public Service Department (JPA) which is undergoing the civil service transformation will be the role model for other agencies by the end of this year, Public Service Department director-general Datuk Mohamad Zabidi Zainal said today.

The JPA is in the midst of implementing five aspects towards the transformation, namely human resource, organisational development, delivery system, collective decision making and patriotism, he said.

"JPA should cater to the changing environment. We must be creative and innovative in our productivity in order to achieve a developed nation status," he said during the opening of the Productivity in the Civil Service seminar in Likas near here today.

At the seminar, Penampang health officer Dr. Mohammad Saffree Jeffree received the Most Friendly Employer award while Sabah Medical Services Union (SMSU) president Maiman Muntial was presented with the Staff and Active Association special award.

The seminar which was jointly organised by the National Joint Council for Science and Technology employees in the Support Group, SMSU and Penampang Health Office was attended by the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS) president Datuk Omar Osman.
