KUCHING, July 4 (Bernama) -- 'Bubur Lambuk' which is well known in Sarawak especially during the Ramadan month, will be featured as a friendly neighborhood concept under the Bubur Lambuk programme organised by Kuching North City Hall (DBKU).
DBKU mayor Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai said the programme that will kick off on July 13, was intended to become a two-way communication platform between the DBKU and local residents from 21 villages in Petra Jaya.
"This year the porridge programme received overwhelming response when more participants and sponsors have come forward to participate in the program," he said at a press conference, here, today.
The programme also aims to strengthen ties between the residents who are involved in the friendly neighborhood area, which consists of a variety of religious backgrounds.
Meanwhile in SHAH ALAM, a total of 7,000 packets of bubur lambur will be distributed to the public, mosques, orphanages and welfare homes, in conjuction with the Ramadan month.
Shah Alam Concorde Hotel communications and marketing manager Samantha Lai said the cooking and distribution of the bubur lambuk programme is a tradition that has been practised for more than 10 years ago to share the Ramadan festive celebration with the community.
