PETALING JAYA, July 4 (Bernama) -- Publication of research papers, articles, thesis and scholarly books by institutions of higher learning (IPT) can help contribute to the development of knowledge in the society, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said the effort could also become a yardstick to the nation's strength as it could infuse thinking transformation for the benefit of the university community, policy makers, industrialists, scholars, and local and international researchers.
"Thesis is certainly an invaluable treasure in our strive to increase the level of knowledge among the people.
"It can be used as a reference and a guide by researchers to continue their efforts to increase and develop knowledge," he said when presenting the Nurul Foundation's best thesis award (research papers based on Islamic philosophy), here today.
Muhyiddin, who is also the foundation chairman, also launch a book entitled 'Transformasi Pemikiran Sarwajagat' containing writings from the finalists of the award.
