8% of KZN votes counted

In KwaZulu-Natal, 8.3 percent of votes from the provincial election had been counted shortly after 3am on Thursday. Of the province's 4746 voting districts, 394 had been counted, accounting for 155,024 valid votes and 2160 spoilt votes. The African National Congress had 98,062 of the early votes, the Democratic Alliance 23,148, the Inkatha Freedom Party 16,388, the National Freedom Party 11,483 and the Economic Freedom Fighters 2307. Minority Front had 776 votes, the African Christian Democratic Party 698, the Freedom Front Plus 489, United Democratic Movement 404 and the African People's Convention 334. The Congress of the People secured 212 votes, the Azanian People's Organisation 166, the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania 166, the KwaZulu-Natal Transport Alliance 106 and the United Christian Democratic Party 103.
