Two Percent Of FreeState Votes Counted

Just before 2am on Thursday, 2.17 percent of votes in the Free State provincial election had been counted. Thirty-three of the province's 1523 voting districts had been counted, accounting for 1635 valid votes and 65 spoilt votes The early results recorded that the African National Congress had 1147 votes, the Democratic Alliance had 292 votes, the Economic Freedom Fighters had 102 and the Freedom Front Plus had 52 votes. The Congress of the People secured 13 of the votes counted thus far, the African Peoples Convention had eight and the African Christian Democratic Party had seven votes. The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania and United Democratic Movement each had four votes, while the Azanian People's Organisation and United Christian Democratic Party both had two votes each. The Patriotic Alliance and Inkatha Freedom Party secured a single vote each in the early results. Sapa /mjs/ks
