Kapuka Tournament concludes its activities

ONGWEDIVA, 11 JUL (NAMPA) - The 2013 Kapuka School Sport Tournament, which started on 21 June, will conclude its activities with a veterans' football final at the northern border town of Helao Nafidi on Saturday.
The coordinator of the tournament, Sammy Mushelenga told Nampa on Thursday the NamPower Veterans' Club from Ruacana and Tsumeb Veterans' Club will lock horns in the final, which is to be held at the sports ground of the Helao Nafidi Business Expo Centre.
A friendly game between the Ohangwena Veterans' Club and Ondangwa Legends will take place before the final match.
The winning team will take home N.dollars 3 500, a floating trophy and gold medals, while the runners-up are to receive N.dollars 2 000 and silver medals.
In the learners? football competition, Gabriel Taapopi Senior Secondary School (SSS) from Ongwediva was declared the winner after beating their counterparts from the Oshikango Combined School (CS) 3-1 in the final.
This final took place on 23 June. Gabriel Taapopi SSS received N.dollars 4 000, gold medals and floating trophy, and Oshikango CS walked away with N.dollars 2 000 and silver medals.
The Garoes Club won the women?s football category and received N.dollars 1 500, gold medals and a floating trophy, followed by Mwadinomho CS which was awarded N.dollars 1 000 and silver medals.
Netball, volleyball and basketball were the other sports code which featured in the 17th edition of the annual Kapuka Sport Tournament.
