Tsumeb happy to be hosting newspaper cup

TSUMEB, 13 (NAMPA) – Tsumeb is thrilled to be the host of The Namibian Newspaper Cup youth tournament for this year, the town’s acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Monique Muturi said here Friday.
She said more than 20 000 people are expected to come for the four-day newspaper cup tournament next week.
The Namibian Newspaper Cup youth tournament will be held at the Oscar Norich Sports Stadium in Tsumeb during the Easter weekend from 18 to 21 April 2014.
“The municipality of Tsumeb would like to invite all football lovers to this year’s newspaper cup tournament, which is set to take place in our beautiful copper town,” said Muturi.
The acting CEO said the arrival of so many visitors to the town would also be welcome news for the local businesses, as they would stand to benefit from the increased buying power.
“Come and have a good time in our town. Spend your money and enjoy the neatness and hospitality of our town,” she said.
Muturi assured all the visitors and football lovers who will be coming to Tsumeb for ‘The Namibian Newspaper Cup’ youth tournament that there will be tight security services to ensure their safety and that of their belongings.
Thirteen regional football clubs are expected to participate in ‘The Namibian Newspaper Cup’ youth tournament this year.
Kavango West region will only join in 2015.
