Prime Minister (PM) Dr Hage Geingob arrived in the Chinese capital
Beijing on Sunday for an eight-day State visit to this east-Asian
He is expected to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday to
discuss pertinent issues relating to trade as well as economic and
political relations of the two sisterly countries.
Geingob is also expected to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Prime
Minister Li Keqiang, for official talks.
He will then be hosted by the Committee of the Chinese People's
Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
An address to students at China's leading university of science and
technology, the Tsinghua University where a handful of Namibians are
also pursuing their studies, is likewise on the schedule.
Geingob is leading a strong delegation comprising Cabinet ministers,
leaders of various Government agencies and parastatals as well as
The visit coincides with the hosting of the Namibia-China Business
Forum under the auspices of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (NCCI), hence the large business delegation comprising about
64 Namibian business personalities in this country.
Geingob's visit will also include a familiarisation tour of the
Dayawan Nuclear Power Plant, which is managed by the parent company of
Swakop Uranium, Huawei Technology Company.
The delegation is expected back in Namibia on 15 April.
