Baby dumped in riverbed near Monte Christo Road

WINDHOEK, 04 APR (NAMPA) – A four or five-day-old baby boy was found abandoned in the riverbed between Abraham Mashego Street and Monte Christo Road in the capital on Tuesday.
A media statement issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Friday said the baby was found alive at about 22h15 by a member of the public who was searching for a suspect, who allegedly assaulted an employee at his bar nearby.
The baby was taken to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital on the same night.
NamPol requested anyone with knowledge of the dumped baby to contact the nearest police station.
NamPol's spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi said by Friday afternoon there were no new developments in the matter, and police investigations continue.
