WINDHOEK, 04 APR (NAMPA) – The five-month Winter Time change will commence at 02h00 on Sunday, and all clocks and other time-keeping pieces will have to be turned back one hour.
The practice is in accordance with the Namibian Time Act, Act No. 3 of 1994, which regulates winter and summer time here.
This will set Namibia's time one hour ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
In summer, local time is two hours ahead of GMT.
The release on the time-change was distributed by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology on Friday.
Namibia reverts back to Summer Time on the first Sunday of September every year.
