Ndilimani singer admitted in ICU

WINDHOEK, 04 JUL (NAMPA) ? One of the main singers of the Ndilimani Cultural Troupe, Benjamin Kriyan has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Katutura State Hospital after the shack he was sleeping in caught fire.
His aunt, Fenny Andreas told Nampa in a telephonic interview on Thursday the incident occurred at around 04h00 on Sunday morning (30 June) in the Goreangab informal settlement in Katutura.
She said Kriyan, who is in his mid-thirties, was alone and asleep in his shack at the time of the incident.
It is not yet known what caused the fire, but Andreas said the family opened a case at the Wanaheda Police Station and no suspect has been arrested in connection with the matter yet.
She described Kriyan?s condition as critical, saying he suffered severe burns to his legs, face and arms.
Nampa attempted to obtain police confirmation about the incident, but no response was received by Thursday afternoon.
