President Hifikepunye Pohamba and the visiting Nigerian head of state, Goodluck Jonathan, canceled
their visit to Meatco this afternoon.
Pohamba and his guest were delayed by preceding programmes and decided to go to the last item on
their agenda list, visiting Satcom.
Their visit to Satcom and Windhoeker Maschinen Fabric had to be merged, as time could not allow the
two heads of state to visit the two places separately.
Meatco was disappointed following its three days of planning to welcome the President and his visiting
counterpart. However, the Nigerian Minister of Trade, Olusegun Olutoyin Aganga, stopped by Meatco
on behalf of the Nigerian delegation.
Aganga was nonetheless welcomed by the Namibian Minister of Water and Forestry, John Mutorwa,
Meatco CEO, Vekuii Rukoro and the board chairperson, Martha Namunjebo-Tilahun.
The Villager will have the discussions, which took place at Meatco later.
