Grootfontein farmer allegedly hangs himself

OTJIWARONGO, 18 MAR (NAMPA) – An 82-year-old livestock farmer from the Grootfontein district allegedly hanged himself at his farm on Sunday morning.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Public Relations’ Officer, Sergeant Maureen Mbeha told Nampa on Tuesday that the deceased has been identified as Cornelius Christian Pistorius.
Pistorius was the owner of Farm Nuitsas Noord, situated some 70 kilometres east of Grootfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region.
Mbeha said he was found hanging inside the garage of his farmhouse by his grandson at 07h30.
“He did not leave behind any suicide note, and an inquest docket has been opened at the Maroelaboom police station,” she stated.
Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
