Pirates blow it

First National Bank (FNB) Orlando Pirates blew a chance to go top of the MTC/Namibia Premier League (NPL) last night after being held to a 0-0 draw by Tura Magic at at the Sam Nujoma stadium last night.


Pirates who went into the game with 23 points, two behind log leaders Black Africa and Tigers who have 25 points each were unlucky not to go ahead after Marcello Haraseb goal was disallowed for offside in the 62nd minute.


On the other hand Magic too could have scored after Junias Theophilus hit the post in the first half.


The draw moved Pirates to third on the log with 24 points but second place Tigers can go top with a win against Civics whom they play tomorrow night at the Sam Nujoma stadium.


BA who are the defending champions will play on Saturday in Walvis Bay against LH Blue Waters who defeated Tigers 3-2 the past weekend.


Fourth place African Stars welcomes bottom place Rundu Chiefs in Windhoek also on Saturday.
