Pirates to go top with a win

They might not be considered favourites for the MTC/Namibia Premier League (NPL) title this season by some, but Orlando Pirates will have a say in this season's title which appears to have become a four horse race.

Pirates playTura Magic tonight at the Sam Nujoma Stadium and a win will temporarily put them on top as their rivals Black Africa, Tigers and African Stars will only play on Friday and Saturday respectively.

Pirates are having 23 points together with Stars, three points behind log leaders Black Africa and Tigers who both have 25 points.

But Pirates title hopes will be tested against a highly motivated Magic side that thrashed aside another title favorites Stars 3-1 last Friday.

Pirates too are in a form of their own as they are coming from a 2-1 win over Eleven Arrows in Walvis Bay on Saturday.

They are looking for their firs silverware since 2009 and are in a hunt for a double as they are still in the Bidvest Namibia cup although they have a difficult tie against Stars in the last 16 with their date yet to be confirmed.
