Minor girl and young woman allegedly raped

KAPAKO, 18 JUN (NAMPA) - A four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 20-year-old man at the Makena village, situated some 80 kilometres west of Rundu, on Sunday afternoon.
The suspect allegedly took the minor into the bushes along the Rundu-Mururani road, and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect was arrested by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on the same day, and is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate?s Court on Tuesday this week.
In an unrelated related incident, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly also sexually assaulted at the Tuhingireni informal settlement on the outskirts of Rundu on Saturday evening.
NamPol?s Kavango Regional Crime Investigations? Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton said on Tuesday the suspect allegedly raped the victim in a vehicle.
A 33-year-old taxi driver was arrested by the police in connection with the incident, and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
