WINDHOEK, 16 JUN (NAMPA) - The Namibian national rugby team's overwhelming victory over Tunisia on Saturday in Senegal brought it one step closer to the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Namibia beat Tunisia 45-13 in an African Cup Division 1B game.
The Welwitchias also beat hosts Senegal in Dakar 35-12 earlier.
The two victories put Namibia through to Division 1A, where it was before a 54-57 loss against Madagascar last year relegated Namibia to Division 1B.
According to the International Rugby Board (IRB) world ranking, Namibia is currently in 23rd position, while on the continental ranking, Namibia is second after powerhouse South Africa.
Zimbabwe is in third place.
