WINDHOEK, 11 JUN (NAMPA) - The City Police on Tuesday removed an illegal fence on municipal land in the Prosperita industrial area of the capital.
The land was allegedly fenced off by a local businessman last year, and he was renting it out to a Chinese construction company.
Speaking to Nampa at the scene, City Police spokesperson Helena Mootseng said when they discovered the illegal activity they approached the culprit and issued him with a notice to remove the fence within two days, but he ignored the order which forced the City Police to remove the fence.
When this Nampa reporter arrived at the site, a combination of City Police officers and construction workers of Choonovi Investment Contractors, a company contracted by the City Police to remove the fence, were busy taking down the fence.
Mootseng warned the public to refrain from illegal occupation of municipal land.
