ONGWEDIVA, 13 FEB (NAMPA) – The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Northern Branch has successfully lobbied the Oshikango-based Sanzi Import and Export company to sponsor a young man to study at the Polytechnic of Namibia.
The recipient, Ero Armas from the Onaanda village in the Omusati Region, finished Grade 12 at the Eengedjo Senior Secondary School (SSS) at the Omungwelume village in the Ohangwena Region in 2010.
He received a cheque of N.dollars 15 000 from that company’s director Alfaz Virani and Tomas Iindji of NCCI Northern Branch at Ongwediva on Thursday.
Speaking during the scholarship hand-over event, Virani pointed out that his company will sponsor Armas an annual N.dollars 15 000 for three consecutive years.
The company will also give Armas a holiday job during his studies to gain experience.
The 21-year-old Armas is pursuing a degree in Transport Management and Logistics as from this year.
After completing school, he could not further his studies because his mother is unemployed and unable to pay for his tertiary education.
“I really appreciate Sanzi’s help and I will not waste this opportunity,” said Armas, after receiving the scholarship which covers his tuition and registration fees.
