Young man dies in accident outside Arandis

SWAKOPMUND, 06 JUN (NAMPA) - The notorious B2 road between Swakopmund and Arandis in the Erongo Region claimed yet another life at around 11h15 on Thursday.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)?s acting Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Inspector George Xoagub told Nampa on Thursday the accident which resulted in the death of a 19-year-old male occurred 10 kilometres outside Arandis en route to Swakopmund.
He explained that the Volkswagen Golf in which five males from the Namibia Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT) had been travelling overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
After the driver lost control of the vehicle, the vehicle swerved to the right side of the road before overturning.
One of the passengers sustained serious injuries and was transported to Windhoek for specialist treatment, while three other occupants sustained less serious injuries and were transported to the Swakopmund State Hospital for treatment.
The deceased?s next of kin were yet to be informed of his death.
